The girls varsity 1V and 2V crew team boats both placed third in the Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia this weekend, marking the first time in Whitman Crew history that the girls senior varsity has made it into the finals and placed.
The boys 1V and 2V boats both lost in the semi-finals and were not able to qualify for the finals despite a strong showing, but the girls squeezed their medal out by a matter of inches.
“For the last 100 meters all I wanted was for the race to be over and for us to still be in third place,” said senior Mia Finelli, Coxswain on the 2V boat.
