Sexual Abuse Survivors’ Resources

https://www.rainn.org/after-sexual-assault
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is an organization dedicated to anti-sexual violence. Their mission is to “carry out programs to prevent sexual violence, provide aid to survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.” This particular link will take you to a page containing guidance on various aspects concerning the ¨after¨ of sexual abuse, such as recovery, reporting sexual abuse and information about the criminal justice system and other, more specific areas of direction including safety planning, LGBTQ+ survivors, therapy and telling loved ones.

This page, also from RAINN, provides the warning signs to grooming. Knowledge of these signs can either help you identify a groomer in the community or recognize the actions when they may happen to you. This also discusses the misconceptions about relationships between adults and those who are underage, and where the line is drawn. It speaks specifically about online grooming, explains the importance of teaching these signs throughout family and the community, and shares survivor stories along with linking a resource to report sexual abuse of a child or a teen.
