The baseball team beat the 3-3 Gaithersburg Trojans, 8-2, at home April 11, keeping its record undefeated at 7-0.
Michael Flack hit a double in the first inning to bring Sam Avayou home. In the fifth inning, Drew Aherne hit a single with the bases loaded to allow two runners to score. As pitcher, Flack struck out nine Trojans and threw a no-hitter until Gaithersburg was finally able to make contact with a ball in the sixth inning.
“We played well, but we have to keep it up [next game] against Quince Orchard, who will be our biggest competition this year,” Aherne said. “I’m not worried, but we’ll still have to play our best.”
Next, the Vikes travel to take on the 6-1 Quince Orchard Cougars April 13.
