The boys basketball team beat the 13-9 Clarksburg Coyotes, 60-46, Feb. 21, bringing its regular season record to 6-16.
The Vikes held their own in the first quarter, tying the score at 9-9. The Coyotes struggled to get past the Vikes’ zone defense, leading to multiple turnovers. The half ended with the Vikes up 11.
The Vikes came out even stronger in the second half, at one point putting themselves ahead by 24 points. Guard Jake Harrison had explosive play in the second half, racking five three-pointers and bringing his total points up to 21 for the game.
Next, the Vikes travel to take on the 12-10 B-CC Barons Feb. 25 in their first playoff game of the season. The Vikes fell to the Barons twice in regular season play.
