Boys lacrosse finds success on community night with 13–5 win

[score id=”44513″ align=”right”]
The boys lacrosse team improved their record to 9–4 Wednesday evening after a 13–5 victory over the Seneca Valley Eagles during the annual community night game.

The Eagles, now 4–6 on the season, were no match for the Viking’s aggressive style of play.
The Vikes held the Eagles to one goal up until halftime, with a strong defensive performance all around.

“We had a great defense. All the turnovers caused by our defense stopped them from shooting,” attacker Richard Miller said.

The Eagles defense was immediately outperformed by the Vikings’ fast paced offense, which took a 4–0 lead in the first quarter.

Miller led the Vikings’ offense, and found the net three times during the game.

Miller credited his teammates with providing him with the opportunities to score throughout the game.

“I can’t score it on my own,” he said. “It’s really everyone else putting in the effort, moving the ball around, making it so I could score.”

Attacker Jack Bickford and midfielders Alex Hilsenrath and Lino Nunez each added two goals apiece. Midfielders Jake Gray, Matt Anderson and Luke Walker along with attacker Alex Hosker each scored one along with.

Walker had just been called up from JV when he entered the game with just minutes remaining. With only 3.3 seconds left on the clock, he scored his first goal of his varsity career.

“I was pretty scared to go in, but I stepped up, I saw it, and I scored,” Walker said.
