The girls soccer team lost to the 9-3 Churchill Bulldogs, 2-1, in overtime Nov. 1, ending its season at 9-2-1.

The Bulldogs consistently worked their way around Viking defenders in the first half and scored their first goal with a shot to the upper left corner of the net with seven minutes left in the first half.
The Vikes came back, creating more opportunities to score in the second half. Defender Emily Martin shot a long ball at the goal in the first five minute that was caught by the Churchill goalie.
Finally, with sixteen minutes left in regulation, forward Emma Anderson was fouled in the goal box, and Anna Gurney took the penalty kick to even the score at 1-1.
Neither team scored again, pushing the game into overtime. The Bulldogs scored off a corner kick five minutes into overtime, winning the game 2-1.
Losing seven seniors, the Vikes look to their underclassmen next season. The girls were undefeated had no goals scored against them in their division play, placing first in the 4A South division.
