The Montgomery County police are responding to reports of a shooting at Montgomery Mall.
Three people have been shot and the suspect isn’t in custody, MCPD tweeted. Principal Alan Goodwin made an announcement urging seniors going out to lunch to avoid the mall. (5/6/16, 12:30 PM).
Update (5/6/16, 12:39 PM): Police have also reported a shooting at the Aspen Hill Giant on Connecticut Ave; there has been one reported victim. Find more information here.
Update (5/6/16, 1:12 PM): All MCPS schools have been placed under a shelter-in-place due to police activity. Schools should get out on time.
Update (5/6/16, 3:10 PM): Police have the person of interest in custody. The shelter-in-place has been lifted at all schools and after school activities will go on as planned.
