**By Mallory Frankel**

Varsity boy’s lacrosse beat the Clarksburg Coyotes 11-8, May 10, finishing the season 10-2.

Clarksburg took an early lead eight minutes into the game, but the Vikings quickly countered when captain Pat Slawta fed attacker Trevor Hains with less than a minute left in the first quarter.

The Vikings scored five times in the second quarter but allowed three goals and entered halftime with a 6-4 lead.

Clarksburg started the second half strong and scored two goals. However, the Vikings quickly regained their strength when Hains scored two goals in twenty seconds.

For the remainder of the game, the Vikings controlled possession and continued to produce offensively.

Midfielder Larry Kline left the game early after dislocating his shoulder in the first half. With playoffs just around the corner, bench players will need to step up and fill his role as a solid defender.
