The girls tennis team overpowered the Quince Orchard Cougars 7-0 this Monday in their home opener, resulting in a 2-0 record on the season.
The Vikings won all seven matches in straight sets, while only giving up a combined eight games to their opponents. Notably, junior Anna Marcus stepped into the fourth singles spot in her first singles match of the season and won 6-0, 6-0.
The doubles teams of Miranda Tompkins and Emily Zitner, and captain Ali Dane and Olivia Matthews, also put up strong performances, with both teams cruising 6-0, 6-0.
“The whole team played great,” Tompkins said. “[Zitner] and I work well together and I look forward to the upcoming matches against Northwest and Wootton.”
The girls look to stay in the win column when they travel to face the Northwest Jaguars on Wednesday.
