Boys tennis dominates Rockville, 7-0

The boys tennis team started off its season last night with a dominating performance against the lower division Rockville Rams.

The Vikes won all seven of their matches, receiving boosts from both their singles and doubles players.

Both Aries Wong and Sean Ngo left the team last season to play in tournaments in order to get noticed by colleges. However, both have since returned.  The team will rely on these two heavyweights and newcomer freshman Jack Welch to lead them this season.

Despite Ngo being injured, the team was able to pick up the slack and still win all of its matches.

Senior Lucas Schoch emphasized that it was important to play their weaker opponents just as hard as they would against a rival in order to improve.

“In a match against a school like Rockville, Gohn’s message is to be respectful and considerate of your opponent, but to still go out there and give 100 percent.”

The boys will face Northwest this Friday and look to secure their second win of the season.
