Swim and dive team edges out B-CC

On Jan. 23, the Viking swim and dive team took on cross-town rivals, B-CC.  Despite missing several key swimmers, the girls’ team defeated B-CC with a score of 98-73 and the boys’ team came out on top, 98-72. 

Senior captains Serge Gould and Adam Wise anchored the boys’ team.  Gould placed first in the 200 individual medley by over six seconds and won the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.25.  Freshman Patrick Scordato and Wise teamed up in the 50 freestyle placing first and second respectively.  Wise went on to finish in a close second in the 100 backstroke.

Sophomores Victoria Kuhn and Lauren Levy started off the day strong by resetting their records in the 200 freestyle.  Kuhn placed first in the event with a time of 2:00.42 with Levy close behind in 2:01.34.  The girls’ team also looked to freshmen Audrey Gould and Charlotte Meyer.  Gould took first place in the 50 freestyle and won the 100 breaststroke by over two seconds in a time of 1:11.59.  Meyer also took two events, winning the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly. 

The Vikes are looking forward to competing in their next meet against the Wootton Patriots on Jan. 30 at Montgomery College.
