The Vikings started the game with an offensive burst, scoring in the opening six minutes.

The first goal came after Blair committed around 30 yards from their goal.  Defender Diego Romero took the kick and sent a curving ball to midfielder Elliot Markus who headed the ball straight into the goal.

The boys dominated possession for the remainder of the half, but failed to score again.

However, only twenty seconds after the halftime break, midfielder Jonny Mehrez scored off of a deflected shot that conveniently went right over Blair’s goalie.

The team struck again eight minutes after their second goal with another header from Markus. Attacker Scott Gerfen got free on the outside and sent a cross to Markus who placed the ball in the corner of the net.

The Vikes continued their offensive control throughout the half and had many close shots, including one from Gerfen and another from midfielder Sam Lilek that each went just wide and bounced off of the post.

The Blazers did not call it quits and scored off of a penalty kick with 13 minutes remaining in the game. They had other chances at the net, including a wide open shot that went over the goal.

The Vikings held off the Blazers and the game ended 3-1.

The boys look to continue their postseason run as they play number one seeded Sherwood at home Nov. 6.
