Montgomery County police are seeking help to find two Sherwood High School students who have been missing since Jan. 12, according to a Montgomery County news release.
Junior Rachel Reilly, 16, and senior Nicholas Balderson, 17, were last seen around Damascus. Initially, police thought the pair was travelling in Balderson’s black 1989 Jeep Wrangler. But the car was recently found at a rest stop in Roanoke, Va., the Gazette reported.
No one has been in contact with either Reilly or Balderson since Jan. 12, a close family friend of Balderson said.
“We’re concerned because they are minors, limited on cash, without phones and have no access to more money,” the friend said. “We are also concerned of the possibility of foul play being involved.”
Reilly is a white, 5-foot-5 female with brown hair and blue eyes. Balderson is a white, 5-foot-10 male with brown hair and brown eyes.
Family of the missing students created a Facebook group, “FIND COLE BALDERSON AND RACHEL REILLY,” to help spread information and answer questions of those who are trying to help. The group now has more than 17,000 members.
Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of the two children should contact the Maryland Center for Missing Children at 1-800-637-5437.
AB&T Telecom, located in Gaithersburg, is offering a $2000 reward for anyone who can setup a phone call between the two missing students and their parents, and a $3000 reward for anyone who can ensure their safe return.
