BCS Bowl Predictions

MAACO BOWL LAS VEGAS – No. 11 Boise State vs No. 19 Utah

Winner: Boise State

Boise State was a contender for the championship game all season until their first and only loss to Nevada. Which came after the Broncos missed two field goals. Boise should have no trouble running over Utah and blowing them out. Look for Kellen Moore to have at least three touchdowns through the air if not more.

CHAMPS SPORTS BOWL – No. 22 West Virginia at North Carolina State

Story continues below advertisement

Winner: West Virginia

West Virginia had somewhat of a disappointing season. With offensive weapons like Noel Devine and Geno Smith, West Virginia was favored to win the Big East and lost the chance to be in a more competitive bowl game.

MILITARY BOWL PRESENTED BY NORTHROP GRUMMAN – Maryland vs East Carolina

Winner: Maryland

Maryland had a huge turnaround from last year’s awful record. With their quarterback being named ACC Rookie of the Year, East Carolina will not be able to stop Maryland’s offense.

Chick-fil-A BOWL – No. 20 South Carolina at No. 23 Florida State

Winner: South Carolina

SEC runner up South Carolina has faced much more challenging teams in the course of this season. From knocking of number 1 Alabama, to almost beating Auburn earlier in the season, an ACC team like Florida State should pose no threat to the gamecocks.

CAPITAL ONE BOWL – No. 9 Michigan State vs No. 16 Alabama

Winner: Alabama

Alabama was the third best team in the SEC this year, but that doesn’t really show how good they were. They almost beat Auburn had it not been for a Cam Newton led rally at the end of the game, and besides that only lost to LSU and South Carolina. Michigan State just doesn’t look strong enough defensively to stop the Crimson Tide and Mark Ingram.

ROSE BOWL GAME PRESENTED BY VIZIO – No. 3 TCU vs No. 5 Wisconsin

Winner: Wisconsin

I’m one of the people that is never convinced by teams that play in non-major conferences. Wisconsin had a very impressive season, beating teams like Ohio State and Iowa, with their one loss coming at the hands of Mighigan State. The only win that TCU has that proves anything at all is their blowout win over Utah, who is ranked only 19 in the final BCS standings.

DISCOVER ORANGE BOWL – No. 4 Stanford at No. 13 Virginia Tech

Winner: Stanford

I think that Stanford should be playing in the Rose Bowl game, over either of the teams currently scheduled to play in it. Stanford’s only loss was to number 2 Oregon and almost all of their victories have been won by a large margin. Virginia Tech came back up the ladder after a dismal start to the season, but there are still holes in the team that Andrew Luck and the Cardinals will exploit.

ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL – No. 6 Ohio State at No. 8 Arkansas

Winner: Ohio State

Likely Terrell Pryor’s last game as a Buckeye, Ohio State will show why they held that number one ranking earlier in the season. Pryor will use this final game to show everyone what he’s really got before he leaves for the NFL.

AT&T COTTON BOWL – No. 10 LSU at No. 17 Texas A&M

Winner: LSU

Texas A&M has had trouble against SEC opponents. With LSU’s strong defensive team, the Aggies will have a hard time moving the ball. Of course the always entertaining Les Miles will have a few plays up his sleeve if the game gets close.

TOSTITOS BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – No. 1 Auburn vs No. 2 Oregon

Winner: Auburn

This game will be a showdown of superstars; Cam Newton vs. LaMichael James. To put it simply, Cam Newton will win. No one can stop Newton and the Auburn offense. With this game essentially coming down to who scores more, Auburn will force a few three and outs and maybe a turnover or two. Those few stops will be enough for the Tigers to trample over the Ducks.
