The Ice Hockey team (10–1) Crushed the Churchill Bulldogs (5–5) 7–3 on senior night last Friday for the Vikes.
Whitman got off to a quick start with junior Benjamin Luo opening up the scoring just a minute into the game. The game stayed at a deadlock until late in the first period when a Chruchill goal evened it back up at one.
The Vikes were able to capitalize on a power play with a goal from senior Morrison Cohen early in the second period before another Churchill goal brought it back to even with a goal minutes later. The Vikes quickly responded with a goal from senior Nicholas Huguely to take a 3–2 lead heading into the third period.
Whitman dominated the final period out-scoring Churchill 4–1. Senior Charles Ingis scored two, senior Trevor Fay and sophomore Henry Herdman each scored one in the period sealing a 7–3 victory.
The Vikes will play South River (6-6-1) in an exhibition matchup on Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Cabin John Ice Rink.
