Varsity football defeated the Churchill Bulldogs 21-14 on Nov. 5, bringing its regular record to 7-3 and earning it a spot in the playoffs.
The Vikes came out strong, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. Wide receiver Michael Flack scored the first one off of a seven yard pass from quarterback Henry Kuhn. Kuhn lofted the ball to the corner of the endzone where Flack snagged it over a Bulldog defender for the touchdown. Running back Val Djidotor then scored off of a one yard rush.
The Viking defense played well in the first half and kept the Bulldogs scoreless.
The third quarter opened up with a ten yard touchdown run from running back Miles Davis.
In the fourth quarter, Churchill scored a touchdown on a one yard rush and then successfully went for the two-point conversion. The Bulldogs scored on their next possession on a 59 yard pass, bringing the score to 21-14.
However, the Vikes then sealed the win after an interception by Flack at the 15 yard line.
With this win, the team earned a spot in the playoffs and will take on Gaithersburg next week, who defeated the Vikings earlier in the season.
