Football team defeats Blair, record now 4-1

Varsity football defeated the Blair Blazers 35-12 on Oct 1, improving its record to 4-1.

The Vikes set the pace early in the game and scored the game’s first points. Running back Arsalan Nejad finished off a Viking drive with a rushing touchdown. The Blazers also scored, but failed to get the point after.

In the second quarter, running back Miles Davis ran the ball into the end zone from the seven yard line, increasing the score to 14-6. Soon after, wide receiver Rico Djidotor scored off of a 30 yard pass by quarterback Henry Kuhn.

The Viking defense kept the Blazers off the scoreboard for the entire second quarter, allowing the boys to enter halftime with a comfortable 21-6 lead.

The Blazers opened the third quarter with a touchdown, but failed on the two-point conversion.

The Vikes went scoreless in this quarter, bringing the score to 21-12.

In the final quarter, running backs Tony Atkinson and Davis each scored touchdowns; Atkinson from the three yard line and Davis from the seven.

The game ended 35-12 in favor of the Vikings.

The team will look to continue its winning streak when it travels to Wootton to play the 0-5 Patriots next week.
