Baseball suffers defeat by Wootton 5–6

After battling it out on Thursday, the baseball team (8–5) fell to the Wootton Patriots (9–5) in a notably close game 5–6.

It was a very consistent back and forth game for the Vikes and the Patriots. Neither team scored until the bottom of third when the Patriots took the lead 1–0. But, it started to look promising for the Vikes when they scored three runs in the top of fourth. This was then matched by the Patriot’s three runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The game continued in this manner and ultimately, the Patriots came out on top. While the Vikes could not pull out the victory, they were solid in both offense and defense throughout the match.

The Vikes hope to kickstart a win streak in their next game on Saturday at home against the Gaithersburg Trojans at 1:00 p.m.
