Presidential candidate Donald Trump doesn’t take part in Republican debate
Trump refused to participate in the debate because of Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. Trump asked for Kelly to be removed from the debate because of previous questions she asked in a debate last summer, but Fox refused to honor his request. This debate is only days before the Iowa caucus. Click here to learn more about the announcement.

Teen who used “affluenza” as a defense deported back to U.S
Mexican authorities flew 18-year-old Ethan Couch, who killed four people while driving intoxicated, back to Texas. Last year Couch’s lawyer claimed that he was a spoiled rich teen, which did not allow him to distinguish between right and wrong. Officials said that once Couch returns to Texas he will be “met by U.S. authorities and face various charges.” Click here to learn more about the case.

Zika virus outbreak continues to cause alarm
The World Health Organization recently announced that the disease is “spreading explosively” in the Americas and estimated that it could infect about 4 million people in the next year. A growing concern of the Zika virus is the possible link between the disease and birth defects. The El Salvador government has advised women to wait until 2018 to become pregnant. However, the vast majority of those infected with the virus never get sick. Click here to learn more about this virus.
