The girls volleyball team fell 3–1 to the Blake Bengals in the final game of the regular season Friday, dropping the team’s regular season record to 6–8.
The Vikings lost the first set by only six points and were able to capture the second set 25–15, but weren’t able to keep the momentum.
The Vikings continued to struggle with team communication and focus Friday—issues that have challenged the Vikings all season.
“We have to work together and work to function as a unit, and not just six people on the court,” outside hitter Claire Nagelhout said.
Friday’s game concluded the regular season for the Vikings. The team’s first playoff game is this Thursday against the 6–8 B-CC Barons, who shut out the Vikes 3–0 during the regular season.
“We lost to B-CC during the regular season, but we have improved since then,” setter and team captain Maddie McGill said. “They’re our rivals, and there is a lot riding on the game, so we have to keep our mental game strong.”
