The girls volleyball team’s record fell to 6–5 Tuesday evening after a 3–0 defeat to the Poolesville Falcons.
Some of the Vikings’ key starters were absent for Tuesday’s game, which was scheduled at the same time as BOTC.
Due to the absences, some of the players had to play new positions, and the Vikings had to rely heavily on their bench.
“The challenge of putting people in positions that they usually don’t play during games was difficult,” outside hitter Claire Nagelhout said. “We played people we don’t usually play in games, and I don’t think we adjusted very well.
The Vikings were unsure heading into the game—the Falcons are one of the best teams in Montgomery County, Nagelhout said.
“I think we went into the game kind of expecting to lose,” Nagelhout said. “We thought we had already lost before we even started playing.”
The Vikings now travel to Northwood to play the 3–8 Gladiators Thursday evening.
