The girls soccer team kicked their season off with a strong start Tuesday, shutting down the Blake Bengals 11–1.
The game moved quickly from the start, and the Vikes had many scoring opportunities that they capitalized on throughout the game.
“We did a great job of possessing the ball and finishing our chances,” outside wing Alyssa Prill said.
Though the Viking offense was constantly in action, the eleven goals were a group effort. Forwards Caroline Macdonald, Abby Meyers, Caroline Smith and Mary Dimitrov all contributed to the score, as well as midfielders Kate Morrison, Chelsea Cahill and Kristen Bissell and defender Lindsay Wytkind.
With 25 minutes left in the first half, the Bengals were able to find the back of the net, but this didn’t faze the Vikes, who continued their dominance on offense.
The Vikings (1–0) plan to continue their success in their home opener next Tuesday against the Quince Orchard Cougars at 7:15.
