The boys lacrosse team dominated the Walter Johnson Wildcats 14–0 Thursday evening, improving their record to 7–4 on the season.
The 7–3 Wildcats’ defense was no match for the Vikings’ persistent offense, lead by attacker and team captain Alex Hosker, who scored five of the Vikes’ 14 goals.
The Vikings’ victory comes off a close 9–7 loss to Sherwood Tuesday.
“The past week or two, we weren’t playing the full 48 minutes,” said long stick midfielder Gunnar Morton, who also added one goal. “Tonight we just clicked and played the lacrosse we’re capable of.”
The offense took the lead early with four goals in the first quarter, and didn’t let up possession for the rest of the game.
“The offense possessed the ball for the majority of the game, which allowed us defenders to rest,” Morton said.
In the offense’s performance tonight, all the fundamentals were present.
“We passed really well and we did the simple things and that really helped us get our win,” midfielder Douglas Bruchalski said.
According to Bruchalski, teamwork was the key factor in the Vikings’ win Thursday. “We played well together as a team and had great chemistry,” he said.
