Coming off of a solid start to the season with a 3-0 victory against Poolesville, the co-ed volleyball team fell 0-3 the Blair Blazers.
All three sets were close, but the Blazers outlasted the Vikes, with set scores of 16-25, 18-25 and 17-25.
The team had moments of excellence; however, several errors in rotation and miscommunication among the players eventually led to the team’s downfall.
Outside hitter Hannah Jacobs says the loss was disappointing since it was a very winnable matchup.
“We still don’t have our rotations down so we beat ourselves,” Jacobs said. “It was a bad game, the team was very beatable.”
Despite some preventable errors, the team has a great outlook with many of the newer players picking up the sport quickly.
“We have a lot of new players and they are learning really fast and just in two games we already see a difference in their skill from tryouts,” Jacobs said.
Co-ed returns to action Mar. 27 against the Walter Johnson wildcats. In their last meeting the Vikings eliminated them from the playoffs.
