Varsity softball lost to the Damascus Hornets 14-1 on May 6, bringing its record to 6-8.
The game started out evenly, as both teams had yet to score by the bottom of the third inning. The Hornets then scored four quick runs, giving them the 4-0 lead. Two innings later, senior Alex Rodgers scored Whitman’s first run, bringing the score to 4-1.
The ladies’ failed to make contact with the ball and were unable to catch in the outfield. They fell victim to eighteen strikeouts and eventually lost 14-1. The Lady Vikes look to improve their record Saturday, May 8, against evenly matched Springbrook.
