The girls tennis team dominated the Division-1 Richard Montgomery Rockets 6-1 on Friday, improving their record to 6-3.
The Vikings won all their matches in straight sets, adding to their dominant four-match winning streak.
Notably, the second doubles team of Miranda Tompkins and Emily Zitner thrashed their opponents, 6-0, 6-0. They have won most of their matches this year in straight sets, except for two three-set losses to Wootton and Churchill.
In addition, the first doubles team of Emilia Malachowski and Emily Meyers won handily, 6-1, 6-0.
“We [went] into our match Friday against Richard Montgomery evenly matched,” said third doubles player Lauren Evoy, who won her match 6-2, 7-5. “With Coach Wayerski teaching and formerly coaching the girl’s tennis team at Richard Montgomery, we [had] her insight to how they play, which [was very helpful to our success].”
The girls look to add to the win column when they host the 5-3 Walter Johnson Wildcats on Thursday.
