The girls tennis team continued its hot streak this Wednesday beating the Division-Two Northwest Jaguars 7-0.
“We were hitting great and staying consistent,” second singles player Lauren Evoy said. “We also had a positive attitude going into the match that remained throughout.”
The Vikings won all seven matches in straight sets, the third time they have blanked their opponent this season. The team also received a special visit from former coach Jasen Gohn who is taking the season off on paternity leave.
The girls hope to add to their three-game winning streak when they travel to face the Wootton Patriots on Friday. The Patriots are one of two teams that beat the Vikings last year and present one of the toughest matchups of the season for the team.
“Wootton has [last year’s] win going into the match, but we also have a completely redefined lineup,” Evoy said. “If we can keep the positive spirit running for this next match, [keep] our shots in check, and just keep thinking on the court, we will be in great shape.”
