The boys started strong, scoring just two minutes in on a fast break play that ended with attacker Pat Slawta netting a goal.
Three minutes later, the Vikes scored again, this time from a cutting attacker Trevor Hains, who was assisted by Slawta.
Slawta added another goal before the end of the quarter, as did midfielder Ross Koehn. The two were both unassisted.
The Barons scored their only goal of the night in the beginning of the second quarter off of a cleanup shot.
The Vikes went into halftime up 5-1.
For the remainder of the game, the Vikings dominated possession and continued to produce offensively. They ended the third quarter with a goal from Hains with only one second remaining and they carried that momentum into the fourth.
The team put four more goals on the board before the end of the game. Slawta, Koehn and Hains each finished with hat tricks.
The defense played tough the entire game and allowed only six shots, compared to Whitman’s 24.
The team was missing transfer Booey Ghani, who will become another offensive threat when he returns from his hamstring injury.
The Vikes will travel to Rye, New York for a spring break tournament before their next regular season game.
