The girls soccer team returned to early season form by beating the Kennedy Cavaliers, 5-0, Oct. 14.
The Vikes had a balanced scoring attack with five different players scoring goals. Forwards Natalie Andrasko, Josie Schwarz, Cristina Valianatos, Abby Meyers, and midfielder Kristen Bissell all netted goals and helped put the game away early.
The girls’ defense also returned to form, recording their first shutout in the past two games after having six shutouts in their first seven games.
Goalie Nikki Lane received her first start of the season but only needed to touch the ball once in the first half.
The Vikes bounced back strongly after suffering their first loss of the season last week against B-CC.
“It really motivated us to play well and come back and beat B-CC in the playoffs,” midfielder Maddie Parker said.
The girls play the 7-4 Walter Johnson Wildcats at home on senior night, Thursday Oct. 17, and end their regular season at home Saturday Oct. 19 against Good Counsel. Playoffs then open up Oct. 21 when the tournament bracket is announced.
