The boys tennis team continued its impressive winning streak April 15, defeating the 5-2 Einstein Titans 7-0 and improving its record to 5-0.
Einstein’s winning record was deceptive because they are in a lower division, doubles player Ali Hashim said, but the team still could not afford to underestimate them.
Every match resulted in victory for the Vikes, with impressive wins coming from singles player Matt Lee in two sets (6-0, 6-2) and doubles duo Hashim and Brian Wegman by the same score.
“We worked hard in practice all week and knew that we couldn’t overlook them just because they’re a Division Three team,” Hashim said. “We came out and did what we needed to do.”
The Vikes next match is April 17 at home, where it will be a battle of undefeated records as the team takes on the local powerhouse Wootton Patriots.
