Washington D.C. is ready to rumble with the upcoming presidential election. The city will host a live debate Oct. 6 featuring two media personalities – but it’s unlikely to have any effect on the actual race.

Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart will debate against Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium in “The Rumble in The Air-Conditioned Auditorium,” Stewart and O’Reilly announced Monday. Tickets were available for $75-100, or $25 for GW students, but sold out within a few hours Sept. 25.

Stewart and O’Reilly will donate half of the proceeds to charity, according to the announcement.
“I believe this will be a very enjoyable night for fans of our programs, political junkies, partisans and people who just enjoy yelling,” Stewart said in a press statement.

But O’Reilly has different views on the debate. The best-selling author and host of “The O’Reilly Factor” joked that he didn’t know he was scheduled for the debate.

“I had no idea my agent signed me up for this,” O’Reilly said in the statement. “How can I get out of it?”

The debate will also be available for live streaming on the Internet, but will cost $4.95 to watch.

“It will be a great break from election coverage because these guys are truly funny,” social studies resource teacher Bob Mathis said. “It will be entertaining.”
