Softball falls to Blair, drops record to 1-1

The softball team fell to the Blair Blazers, 10-0, March 23, evening its record to 1-1.

Ali Rohde started off the game pitching and Helen Rosenthal came in to relieve her for the last four innings.

The Blazers ran away with the game early on as the Vikes made several mental blunders.

“Had we not made so many mental errors, the odds could have definitely been in our favor,” catcher Sydney Gertzog said.

The offense showed promise for the rest of the season, as batters consistently made contact against one of the best pitchers in the country.

“I have no doubt that with more practice we can definitely have a great season,” Gertzog said.

The team looks to improve its record to 2-1 when it faces the Damascus Hornets at home March 26.
