Co-ed volleyball starts season out at 0-1

The co-ed volleyball team fell to cross-town rivals the BCC Barons, 25-23, Mar. 21, starting its season off with a loss.

The Vikes fought hard, taking the Barons to five games, but eventually lost the last set 15-10.

This year’s team includes many young players and newcomers, but senior Tamara Ibrahim notes that the team, especially the boys, have improved immensely since tryouts.

“We also get along really well as a team and it’s reflected on the court,” Ibrahim said. “We’re still having some problems with communication, aggressiveness and learning the rotation, but that will definitely improve as we continue the season.”

The team is excited for the return of Brandon Eng after a collarbone injury. Eng will play in the next game as the Vikes look to even out their record when they travel to face the Blake Bengals Mar. 26.
