The boys basketball team lost, 64-51, against the 10-7 Wootton Patriots Jan. 31, lowering its record to 3-14.
The Vikes, who had a close 46-44 loss to the Patriots earlier in the season, took an early deficit in the first quarter, trailing 18-10. The Viking offense struggled to retain control of the ball, resulting in numerous turnovers and baskets for the Patriots. The half ended with Wootton leading 30-22.
Guard Jake Harrison gained his fourth foul early in the third quarter and sat out for much of the rest of the game, hurting the Vikes offensively. Forward Nick Yockey led the Vikes with 11 points, and forward Anton Casey racked two three-pointers. The game ended with a score of 64-51, dropping the team’s divisional record to 1-7.
Next, the Vikes look for a win against the 8-8 Richard Montgomery Rockets Feb. 1 at home.
