The girls basketball team defeated the 1-9 BCC Barons, 39-35, Jan.6, improving its record to 6-4 on the season.
The Vikes won the first half, 18-13, with good offensive play execution. After the halftime break, however, the Barons came out strong and ultimately took the third quarter, 12-8.
With help from guard Brittany Fleck, who had 12 points on the game and the team’s only three pointer, the Vikes beat out the Barons in the fourth quarter, 13-10, to capture the win.
The Vikes hope to start a win streak when they host the 2-9 Wootton Patriots Jan. 10.
