Girls soccer improved to 2-0, Sept 11, with a 3-1 win over the Clarksburg Coyotes.
The Lady Vikes received goals from forward Lucy Arledge, midfielder Tessa Morrison, and midfielder Kim Anderson.
Lottie Nowles and Arledge contributed assists to the first two goals while Anderson scored late when the Coyotes were pushing defensemen forward, in an attempt to tie the game.
The Vikes freshmen, Nowles, Rebecca Mashek, and Alex Masa received a lot of playing time and proved well against an athletic Clarksburg team.
Backup goalie Clara Kelly was solid in net for the second game in a row, as starter Hannah Sasscer was again out with mono and a brain cyst.
The Vikes, will travel to rival Wootton Patriots on Sept 16 in hopes of starting the season 3-0.
