The indoor track team looked strong at its first meet Dec. 13 at the Prince George’s Sportsplex in Landover.
Freshman Rio Chiba and sophomore Zeya Luo place tenth and eighth in the 55 meter dash. Chiba also placed first in the 300 meter dash with a time of 36.53.
Clare Severe placed fourth in the 800 meter dash. Severe and Caroline Elmendorf also finished sixth and seventh in the 1,600 meter dash.
Captain Madeline Entwistle placed third in the 55m hurdles – 33″ with a time of 9.40a.
Entwistle noted that the team looked very good for the first meet of the season and will progress as the season endures.
“We have a lot of good runners, especially jumpers, and everybody did well in their events,” Entwistle said.
There were no relays at this meet for the Vikes, but they look forward to compete soon afterwards at the PG Sportsplex Dec. 28.
