Girls volleyball falls to 4-4

The volleyball team fell to the undefeated Richard Montgomery Rockets, 3-0, Oct. 5, lowering its record to 4-4.

The score remained close in the first game, with both teams leading at different times. Defense from Catherine Benz and Maddie Craig enabled  the team to compete with the Rockets. Despite their intensity, the Vikes eventually fell 25-20.

Early in the second match, the Vikes dominated due to multiple kills and blocks by Benz and Tamara Ibrahim. The team then took a 13-2 lead early in the set, but the Rockets slowly chipped away at the lead, eventually winning 28-26.

The Vikes led in the third set 5-0, but once again fell to the Rockets 25-19.

The team will host the Wootton Patriots Oct. 11.
