The cross country team competed in the Paul Short Invitational, Sept. 30, hosted by Lehigh University.
The team had its best combined finish of the season, with the girls placing second and the boys sixth.
The girls dominated the best teams in the Tri-state area, finishing in second place with 158 points.
Caroline Guiot placed 14th overall with a time of 18:53, while team standout Anna Ryba finished six seconds later and in 16th place.
The boys placed their highest this season at sixth plce with 265 points.
Nick Adams placed third with a time of 16:31, only ten seconds behind the first and second place finishers.
“I am happy about our finish and I think that down the road both teams will do well in the postseason,” Adams said. “The girls are definitely favorites to repeat as county, region and state champions, and the boys are getting some key help from a few underclassmen.”
The team will compete against the 1-1 Magruder Colonels Oct. 4.
