Girls tennis advances to 2-0

The tennis team defeated the Northwood Gladiators in straight sets Sept. 12, improving their record to 2-0.

The Vikings didn’t lose a single set, winning 6-0 on every court.

Led by captains Grace Chandler and Nicky Gottret, the Vikings dominated the match early and never relinquished their lead.

Although the girls have yet to play a DI opponent, they’ve asserted their dominance by starting the season off strong.

“We really just need to stay focused and play our game no matter what the skill level of our opponents is,” Chandler said.

The Vikes seek to improve their record to 3-0 when they host the Blair Blazers Sept. 13.
