Varsity cross country continued their run to a state championship at the Woodward Relays, hosted by Georgetown Prep, Sept. 6. The varsity girls finished first in the six mile two-man relay with a total of seven points.
The boys finished in third place behind Walter Johnson and Churchill. They had 37 points and a total time of 1:48:12.92, but the boys felt they could have done better.
“It was a frustrating performance for the guys, but the girls made up for it out there,” boys runner Brent Kreutzberg said. “Next time we will hopefully come out stronger and tack on fewer points for a win.”
The team will host the Bethesda Chevy-Chase Barons Sept. 14.
