Track competes in state championship meet

The Viking runners who qualified for the 4A state championships ran well in the May 29 meet to close out their season.

The Lady Vikings finished fifteenth, while the boys didn’t place.

The lone male runner, Nick Adams, finished eighteenth in the boys 1600m run with a time of 4:32:80.

In the girls 1600m run, Anna Ryba raced to a twelfth place spot with a time of 5:15:39.

The girls team had three runners place in the top eight in the 3200m run, as Caroline Guiot, Ryba and Alexandra Phillips placed fourth, fifth and seventh, respectively.

Madeleine Entwistle performed well in the 100m hurdles, finishing seventh  with a time of 16:39.

In the 4x800m relay, the team of Caroline Elmendorf, Alexandra Phillips, Elizabeth Frank and Tessa Morrison finished ninth in 9:59:72.

In field events, Sarah Newson placed tenth in the pole vault and Carolyn Connor placed fourth in the triple jump.
