The field hockey team (11–2) finished their regular season Thursday night with a dominant 7–0 win against Clarksburg.
The girls, one of the most winning teams in the state, had yet another win for the 2024 season. Going into the game, the Vikings knew it would be one of their easier games. The Vikes started their domination early on when senior captain Kelsey Allen scored an early goal.
Freshman Ella Kanczuker soon scored another goal due to good ball movement by the Vikes. With little time left in the first half, the Vikes passed the ball around and eventually found junior Maya Fritts who shot the ball into the back of the net making the score 3–0 going into half.
The Vikes started the second half just like the first when Emma Foscarini scored a thrilling goal. Junior Maya Fritts proceeded to follow with a goal from a pass ending the third quarter 5–0. The Vikes went into the last quarter game knowing they had a win. Emma Foscarini scored two more goals in the final quarter to finish the game 7–0.
The team will play again tonight away at Paint Branch at 6 p.m. for the county championships.
