The boys tennis team finished off their regular season strong with a 7–0 win against the Gaithersburg Trojans.
This final win secured the team’s undefeated record. The squad is walking away from the season unbeaten and Division One champions. For the team’s last game, coach Jasen Gohn switched out most of his usual lineup and put in reserve players.
“The players that don’t normally play singles stepped up and played really well,” first singles player Evin McDonald said.
The team was lead by McDonald, Jason Kaghani, Jared Lapidus and Gaurav Iyenger, who all secured 6–0, 6–0 sweeps in their matches.
“Our team has been really focused the past couple weeks trying to get positive momentum heading into counties,” McDonald said. “We’re really confident about counties after going undefeated this season.”
Next, the Vikes play at counties on a date yet to be determined.

I believe the caption “strong front handed hit” is an incorrect phrase. It is a backhand and a “front handed hit” is a forehand.
