The boys volleyball team (2–6) cruised past the Kennedy Cavaliers 3–0 Wednesday, behind a consistent team effort and finely-tuned offense.
In their third game in a row, the squad got off to a hot start, winning the game’s first set 25–17.
“We’ve had three games in the past three days,” outside hitter Harrison Jacobs said. “We’ve been in good form with a pretty consistent lineup.”
The Vikes continued to show their consistency and team play, running away with the second set 25–10.
With a full rotation of Viking players on display, many athletes were able to add to the team’s success.
“It was a real group effort,” Jacobs said. “I’d say that everyone stayed within themselves and were consistent, which I’d argue is better than any one person carrying the team.”
In the third set, the Vikings’ offense proved too powerful for the Cavaliers. Steady serving propelled the squad to a 25–14 set victory and the sweep.
The Vikes return home against Damascus Monday at 7:15.
