The girls volleyball team shut out B-CC 3–0 Thursday evening in the first round of playoffs.
The girls finished the regular season with a 6–8 record, including a 3–0 loss to B-CC in October.
The Vikings’ strong offense was able to outscore B-CC by a combined 21 points across all sets.
“We were very strong in all three forward positions,” outside hitter Claire Nagelhout said. “We were able to hit consistently from the outside, middle and right side with only a few errors. We had a pretty tough block from B-CC to get around but we were able to start hitting around and over it which really helped bring in points.”
After Thursday’s victory, the Vikings now move on to face the Churchill Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs placed first in the county during the season, ending with a 13–1 record. In their regular season matchup, Churchill pulled away with a close 3–2 victory over the Vikings.
“Churchill’s defense is really strong,” Nagelhout said. “We need to work on trying to find empty spots so we can try to get around it. They don’t let many balls drop so we will have to work really hard not to get frustrated if they dig our hits.”
Due to their regular season performance, Churchill had a bye first round of playoffs and will host the Vikings Monday for their first game of the playoffs.
