The girls volleyball team dropped to 3–1 Monday evening after a 3–0 loss to the defending state champion Sherwood Warriors.
The Viking offense was smothered by a strong Sherwood defense all game, as the Vikings were held to 20 points or fewer all three sets.
The Warriors outplayed the Vikings in every set and showed strong teamwork, while uncharacteristic mistakes plagued the Vikes all game.
“We have all the skill, we just need to gain confidence as a team,” setter Maddie London said.
That task falls upon middle blocker and team captain Cami Rogers. Rogers believes that by the time playoffs begin, the team will be ready for the tough opposition.
“I am so proud of my team, and I’m going to take this winning team to states and bring it harder,” Rogers said.
The Vikings will return home for a big game on Thursday night, going up against the 3–2 Walter Johnson Wildcats.
