The girls volleyball team captured their second win of the season on Thursday night, defeating the Einstein Titans 3–1.
The Vikings played a strong first two sets, holding the Titans to fewer than 15 points in each. However, they dropped the third set after a late Titan rally forced the set into a win by two, and the Vikes fell 27–25. The Vikings went on to win the fourth set 25–13, securing the game.
The Vikings defense kept a strong presence throughout the game, turning difficult plays into scoring opportunities.
“We got a lot of great digs. All the down balls we got were well-dug,” outside hitter Claire Nagelhout said.
Throughout the game, the Vikes were able to stay low to maintain ball control and score more.
“We worked on staying low when you pass the ball, and they really demonstrated that tonight,” said coach Erica Chao. “After all the work they put in during practices, it was apparent that it had stuck with them: they were moving their feet to get to the ball while staying low.”
The team will head to Clarksburg to face the 0–2 Clarksburg Coyotes next Wednesday.
