After defeating Richard Montgomery, varsity baseball looks to take down the number one seeded Wootton Patriots in the regional quarterfinals.
“We will need error free defense and good pitching as well as timely hitting,” third baseman Paul Balland says. “The same thing it’s taken all year.”
The Vikes lost 4-0 to the Patriots earlier in the regular season. Two errors led to a four-run third inning that proved too much for the team to overcome.
“We need to swing the bats better and lately we haven’t been doing that,” center fielder James Dionne says. “I think we have a very good chance of winning.”
The Vikings will need to have strong run support in order to topple Wootton, considering they have won only a single game when scoring less than four runs.
