The co-ed allied handball team secured their first win of the season, defeating the Walter Johnson Wildcats 10-9 this Tuesday.
“It was the closest game we’ve ever played,” forward Grace Goldman said. “It was a nail biter and because it was our first win and our last home game, our team was excited when we somehow pulled out the win.”
Forward Brian Fisher scored nine of the 10 goals for the Vikings, with the additional score coming from forward Cassie Nighswander.
“Although we haven’t won much, we are full of spirit and hopefully we will win our next game, but we really focus on having fun and trying our best,” Goldman said.
The 1-4 Vikings look to win their second straight game and advance to the playoffs next Wednesday when they travel to face the Northwood Gladiators.
